Dr. Janak Bahadur Basnet, Founder Chairperson of YANDA, is a senior Yoga & Naturopathy physician with over 20 years of experience in Yoga, Naturopathy, and lifestyle medicine. He holds a BNYS degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India, and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He is currently pursuing a PhD from Nepal Sanskrit University, specializing in fasting therapy and metabolic disorders. Dr. Basnet has successfully treated thousands of patients, focusing on metabolic, autoimmune, and gastrointestinal disorders, as well as back pain and stroke rehabilitation. An accomplished entrepreneur, he has established several Yoga & Naturopathy hospitals and wellness centers across Nepal. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Basnet is an active academic, serving as a faculty member at institutions like Nepal Sanskrit University and Tribhuvan University. He has also contributed to various government health and education committees and has been instrumental in developing the curriculum for Yoga & Naturopathy education in Nepal. His published work includes a textbook on Yoga and Naturopathy for school-level education, under the Ministry of Education’s curriculum development committee.
